Exploration of California State Parks

The California State Park system is made up of almost 300 individual parks and because of the state's benign weather, recreational opportunities abound throughout the year. The California State Park System has classified its park units into several categories. State parks contain scenic, natural, cultural, or ecological values of statewide significance. State wildernesses feature an undeveloped area's natural, primeval character. State reserves protect unique natural or scenic values. State historic parks preserve places and objects of statewide historical significance
