Old Logging Activity

Trail Thoughts and Musings

As the trail continues to climb, evidence of the extensive logging that took place in the late 1800s can still be seen. Here a large redwood stump is found. One can only wonder at how the tree was transported to a lumber mill. Juxtapositioned with this view of mans destruction, is the lush new growth which emphasizes nature's ability to rejuvenate itself.
