Ancient Redwood

Trail Thoughts and Musings

The climb to the ridge top winds through small stands of old growth redwood trees that were spared from the fire that occurred shortly before the park formation. It is always humbling to pass by these giants as you walk through the stillness of the forest. Here is shown a superb specimen, complete with a hollowed trunk that is large enough for a person to stand inside.
