Top of St. Joseph's Hill

Trail Thoughts and Musings

The trail finally levels off as it reaches the top of St. Joseph's Hill. The summit is formed by a surprisingly large and flat plateau. The Jesuits first lived here in 1888, finding an isolated and serene area where they could study, pray, harvest grapes, and make wine. If you look closely, you might be able to find remnants of abandoned vineyards on the upper slopes.
