Forest Shade

Trail Thoughts and Musings

As the trail winds down to Peters Creek the grassy meadow yields to small groves of trees. These are found in the sheltered nooks where the hills intersect. In addition to being more sheltered from the drying wind and sun, small seasonal streams form here during the rains. This provides the ground water that the trees require.
