Mud Pots - End of Hike

Trail Thoughts and Musings

Mud pots are an intermediate type of hydrothermal feature between hot springs and fumaroles. They are in continuous activity and during dry times they can become mud volcanoes, throwing mud high enough to build up a rim. This ends our CyberHike. For those who take the real hike, spend the time to fully explore this fascinating area. Then you must make the climb out of hell and retrace your steps back to the parking lot.
