Once the top of the hill is reached, it can be seen that this was a false summit. Ahead the trail climbs to another hilltop. However, by looking off to the right, wonderful vistas can be had of the Santa Cruz Mountains as they stately march to the ocean. If the day is clear and the marine layer is still out to sea, views of the blue Pacific can be seen.
