On the Straight and Narrow

Trail Thoughts and Musings

Once the bridge over Deer Creek has been crossed, the ascent begins in earnest. Two switchbacks take the hiker up the side of the canyon to a small tributary stream. An exquisite but diminutive waterfall can be seen here after the rains. The route then narrows as it climbs though redwood covered canyons on its way to Middle Ridge road. Here it threads its way between a large redwood and its smaller cousin.
