The MacLaren trail bids farewell to the lake shore and heads uphill to meet with the Glen Corrie Picnic area. While second growth redwoods dominated the shores of Loch Lomond, the MacLaren trail now travels through a mixed forest ecology. The redwoods, while still present, are joined by deciduous trees.
