December 7th — 12:45 PM — The Frazier School District has invited the Shipmates to participate in the annual Flag Day Services to be held on Wednesday, December 7th at 2 pm. Shipmates are requested to meet in Knights of Columbus in Monesson (near the park) no later than 12:45 PM.

November 11, 2022 — 10:30 AM — We have been invited to the Veterans Day Program in Monongahela at the Gazebo where we will present a Two Bell Ceremony. We should gather at about 10:30 AM.

November 05, 2022 — 11:30 AM — The Charleroi American Legion is hosting a Veterans Day Parade on Saturday November 5th. Staggering is 12:00 PM near the old stadium 2nd and McKean. A flatbed trailer will be available for older Vets unable to walk. If you are able to enjoy the parade please be at the Staging site by 11:30 AM.

October 4, 2022 — 7:00 PM — The next meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates will be held Tuesday Night, October 4, 2022, at 7 PM at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA. Please make plans to attend!

November 11, 2021 — 11:00 AM — The Nov. 11 program will include the Shipmates doing the Two Bell service at 11 AM at Chess Park Gazebo.

November 6, 2021 — 10:00 AM — Veterans Day parade and program in Monongahela. The parade will be this Saturday, Nov.6, with ceremonies at 10 am at the gazebo and the Shipmates doing the Two Bell service, then the parade from Key Bank to Sheetz Gas Station.

November 1, 2021 — 7:00 PM — Because of the election day on Tuesday, the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates will meet on Monday, November 1, at 7:00 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA.

The November meeting is very critical for the membership to attend. The question will be, "DO WE MAINTAIN THE SHIPMATE ORGANIZATION OR SHOULD WE DISSOLVE IT?"
This is your organization and your input and vote is very important toward the future of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates!!

August 3, 2021 — 7:00 PM — The August meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates will be held Tuesday Night, August 3, at 7 PM at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA. Please make plans to attend!

July 6, 2021 — 7:00 PM — The July meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates is to be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 7 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA.

Since our organization's bylaws will be discused, it is important that as many of our members as possible be present.

July 3, 2021 — 6:30 PM — A monument to Medal of Honor recipient Lt. Mitchell Paige will be dedicated at 7 PM, July 3 at Chamber Plaza in Charleroi. This will be part of the borough’s weekend Community Days. The Mid Mon Valley Shipmates will present a two bell ceremony at this time. Please try to be there by 6:30 PM. Dress code is the Summer uniform.

June 27, 2021 — 1:45 AM —The Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates will conduct a Two-Bell Ceremony on Sunday afternoon June 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM for Shipmate Alvin Mucci. Shipmates are requested to be at the funeral home no later than 1:45 PM. Dress code is the Summer uniform.

June 1, 2021 — 7:00 PM — The June meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates is to be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 7 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA.

May 31, 2021 — 8:30 AM — The Monongahela Veterans Council and the City of Monongahela will conduct Memorial Day services May 31. Parade lineup will be at Fourth and Main streets at 8:30 a.m. and step-off promptly at 9 a.m. with the U.S. Marine Color Guard in the lead. A 10 a.m. service will follow in the veterans’ section of Monongahela Cemetery

Monday, November 1, 2020 — 7:00 PM — Arrangements have been made to hold the November meeting at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk (Monongahela). Please be advised that due to election day on Tuesday, Nov 3, the meeting will be held on MONDAY, NOV. 1, at 7:00 PM.

This will be the first meeting since February. Please make plans to attend. Some of the items on the agenda ------

Due to continued safety protocols, masks are required, social distancing and occupancy limits will be followed.

November 7, 2020 — 9:00 AM — The Monongahela Veteran Council have announced the details for the Veterans Day parade for 2020.
The usual services that have been held at Chess Park is changed and will be held at the Monongahela Fire Hall The program starts at 9:00 AM, Saturday Morning, November 7, 2020. Included in this program will be the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates presenting the Two-Bell Service. Line up will be at the Chess Park and the parade is to get underway at 11:00 AM, going from Chess Park to the Sheetz gas station.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT for all of the shipmates planning on attending the program and/or parade to call CO Bill Hess at 724-258-3313. This is so that CO Hess will know who will be participating in the Two-Bell service. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

October 2, 2020 — The meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates on October 6, is cancelled due to the Legion Home being closed.

August 30, 2020 — The meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates on September 1 is cancelled due to the Legion Home being closed.

July 28, 2020 — Due to all bars, etc., ordered to shut down, the Legion Home is locked down, so, the meeting scheduled for August 4 is cancelled. If there are any changes, we will notify you ASAP. As of now, the next meeting date will be Sept 1.

July 20, 2020 — 2:45PM — A Two-Bell Service will be conducted for Shipmate, CPO ANDY RUDY, Monday afternoon, July 20th, 3:00 PM, at the Frey Funeral Home, Monongahela PA, Shipmates are requested to be at the funeral home no later than 2:45 PM. Due to the State Regulations concerning the Covid-19 pandemic the funeral home must limit guests to 25 at a time, also face coverings and social distancing (six feet spacing) are required.

July 3, 2020 — Please be advised that the July meeting of the Mon-Valley Shipmates has been CANCELLED again,due the the masking and spacing requirements as mandated by the state. The August meeting will be held pending no return to the YELLOW status.

June 2, 2020 — Due to all bars, etc., ordered to shut down, the Legion Home is locked down, so, the meeting scheduled for June 2 is cancelled. If any change, will notify you ASAP. As of now, the next meeting date will be July 7

May 25, 2020 — There is to be no Memorial Day parade, and the services will be held at the Monongahela PA Cemetery on Monday, May 25, at 10:15 am. Shipmates are requested to be there no later than 10:00 am. There will be no band performing, no speakers, just the memorial service along with the Two-Bell services by the Shipmates. Summer uniforms is in effect

May 5, 2020 — The May meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates has been cancelled. Hopefully, the June meeting can be held on June 2.

March 28, 2020 — Due to all bars, etc., ordered to shut down, the Legion Home is locked down, so, the meeting scheduled for April 7th is hereby cancelled. If any change, will notify you ASAP.

February 4, 2020 — 7:00 PM — The next meeting will be Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 7 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA - No meeting in January.

December 9, 2019 — 11:00 AM — A Two-Bell Service has been scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at 11 A.M., at the Saint Paul Baptist Church, 49 S McKean Ave., Donora, PA., for Willie B. Moon. St. Paul is near the old ice cream shop on the south end of Donora.

December 3, 2019 — 1:00 to 4:00 p.m — The Hibachi Buffet has been reserved for the Shipmates Christmas party for Tuesday, December 3, 2019, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m

November 11, 2019 —8:45 AM — November 11, Chess Park, the annual Veterans Day memorial Program starts at 9 a.m., and the Shipmates will be doing the Two-Bell service. Please be there no later than 8:45 a.m.

November 9, 2019 — 1:00 PM —The Veteran's parade to be held in Charleroi this coming Saturday November 9. Lining up will start at 1 p.m. at the old stadium site.

November 8, 2019 — 7:45 AM — November 8 - Breakfast at 7:45 a.m., followed by the 2019 Veterans Day Concert at 8:30, Ringgold Middle School.

November 7, 2019 — 8:15 AM — November 7 - 8:15 a.m. - Veterans appreciation program, Ringgold Middle School.

November 6, 2019 — 6:00 to 7:00 PM — Wednesday November. 6 - 7p.m. - Vernon Hamilton program at the Ringgold Middle School. Tickets needed to be admitted in the auditorium.

November 4, 2019 — 7:00 PM — The next meeting will be MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 7 PM. This is a change from Tuesday due to the general election and the Legion Home is a voting place.

October 30, 2019 — 2:40 PM —TWO-BELL SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED ON WEDNESDAY, 3:00 PM, OCTOBER 30, 2019, FOR EDWARD CAPOZZA, AT THE MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME, 40 2ND STREET EXT., DONORA . PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND BY BEING AT THE FUNERAL HOME NO LATER THAN 2:40 PM.

October 27, 2019 — 1:50 PM —The upcoming "Concert Tribute to Veterans and First Responders", which will held on Sunday, October 27, at 2:15 p.m., at the new Ringgold Middle School Auditorium, featuring the Greater Monongahela Area Community Band. For this event, the uniform will be with short sleeves shirts. All attendees and their significant other are requested to meet in the lobby no later than 1:50 p.m.,so we can enter and be seated in a group.

October 1, 2019 — 7:00 PM — The October meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates is to be held on Tuesday Oct.1, 2019 at 7 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA.

September 25 — 2:40 PM — A Two-Bell Service will be conducted for shipmate Wilbur Harris. It will be held on Wednesday September 25, 2019 and will start at 3:00 PM. The Service is at the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home in Monessen. Shipmates are requested to arrive at the funeral home no Later than 2:40 PM.

September 13, 2019 —5:00 PM —The Washington County Vets Council will be hosting a Military and First Responder appreciation night on Sept 13 at 5 PM. More information is available at www.piws.org.

August 22, 2019 —2:40 PM —TWO-BELL SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED ON THURSDAY, 3:00 PM, AUGUST 22, 2019, FOR SHIPMATE AND CHAPLAIN, GEORGE DIEHL, AT THE FRYE FUNERAL HOME IN MONONGAHELA. PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND BY BEING AT THE FUNERAL HOME NO LATER THAN 2:40 PM.

August 10, 2019 —11:00 AM —The Monongahela 250th Anniversary Parade will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10th. 2019 at 11:00 AM. Shipmates should line up at Chess Park.

July 28, 2019 — 2:00 PM — The annual picnic, which is scheduled for Sunday, July 28, from 2 PM til 5 PM, will be held at the St .Vincent Hall, located at 1731 Grand Blvd, Monessen

July 24, 2019 — 6:45 PM — The annual Firemen's parade is to be held in Finleyville on July 24, 7 PM. All Shipmates are requested to meet at the Cicci Dance Parking Lot no later than 6:45 PM

June 14, 2019 — 6:45 PM — The Monongahela Elks Lodge has invited the Shipmates to participate in the annual Flag Day Services to be held on Friday, June 14 at 7 pm, at Chess Park and to attend the food and refreshments afterwards at the local Elks Lodge. Shipmates are requested to be at the park no later than 6:45 pm.

June 8, 2019 — 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM — The annual tag day at Wal-Mart is scheduled for June 8th, from 8 AM until 4 PM

June 4, 2019 — 7:00 PM — The June meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates is to be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 7 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA.

May 27, 2019 — 8:45 AM — The Monongahela Memorial Day annual parade is scheduled for Monday, May 27, at 9:00 am. Line up will be at the PNC parking lot and shipmates are requested to be there no later than 8:45 am.

May 14, 2019 — 2:45 PM There will be a Two Bell Service on May 14, 2019 for Shipmate Louis Casciani at Frye Funeral Home for a Two Bell Ceremony arriving at 2:45 PM for a 3:00 PM Service

May 7, 2019 — 7:00 PM — The May meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates is to be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 7 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA.

April 22, 2019 — 2:45 PM A Two-Bell service will be held on Monday,April 22, at 3:00 PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Monongahela, for Shipmate Richard Walters. Shipmates are requested to be at the funeral home no later than 2:45 PM.

A SECOND Two-Bell service will be held on Monday,April 22, at 4:00 PM, at Marra Funeral Home, Monongahela. Viewing will be for a husband and wife, Leo and Genevieve Zuccarini. Shipmates are requested to be at the Marshall Marra's Funeral home no later than 3:45.

Shipmates will leave Frye Funeral home and go directly to Marshall Marra's Funeral home.

Winter uniforms still in effect. Change over is May 1st.

January 6, 2019 — 2:45 pm —A Two-Bell service will be held for Vernon E. DeMillion on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc., 441 Reed Ave. Monessen. Shipmates are requested to be at the funeral home no later than 2:45 PM

December 4th, 2018 — 5:00 PM — The annual Christmas party is scheduled to be held at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA on Saturday, December 4th, at 5:00 PM.

November 10, 2018 — 2:00 PM — The annual Veterans Day Parade is scheduled to be held in Washington PA on Saturday, November 10, at 2:00 PM. All members are requested to sign up for the parade at the next meeting. There is a great possibility that we will not be participating in the parade, if the response is nil.

November 10, 2018 — 9:15 AM — The annual Monongahela Veteran Day Service will also be held on Saturday, November 10, at Chess Park, starting at 9:30 AM. All shipmates are requested to be at the park no later than 9:15 and the shipmates will do the Two-Bell Service.

November 9, 2018 — 12:00 Noon — Veteran's appreciation day to be held on Friday, November 9 at 12 noon at Ringgold North, with is better known as Gastonville Elem School.

November 5, 2018 — 7:00 PM — The November meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates is to be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 7 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA. because Tuesday is election day.

July 28, 2018 — The annual picnic has been confirmed for July 28th, at St. Vincent Hall on Grand Blvd, Monessen.

Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 7 PM. Shipmates are requested to be at the usual gathering site at 6:30, but no later that 6:45. — The annual Finleyville parade is scheduled for July 25, 2018, at 7:00 PM. Last year Shipmates assembled at the CC Dance Studio parking lot by 6:45 PM.

July 8, 6:15 pm — Two-Bell Services will be held for Leonard Valko on Thursday, July 8, 6:15 pm, in the Anthony Massafra Funeral Home, Donora PA. Shipmates are requested to be at the funeral home no later than 6:15 pm

July 3, 2018 — 7:00 PM — The July meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates is to be held on Tuesday, July 3rd 2018 at 7 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA.

June 15, 2018 — June 15, the shipmates will participate in the celebration of the Reunion of the USS Monongahela sailors and their guest at the aquatorium. We will be doing the Two-Bell Services at 6:30 PM and all shipmates are request to be there by 6:15. There will be a meet & greet event, some river cruises and a picnic type party after the ceremonies.

June 14, 2018 — On June 14, the Monongahela BPO Elks Lodge will conduct their annual Flag Day program at Chess Park with a reception to follow at the Elks Lodge. Shipmates are requested to be at the park at 6:30 PM.

June 9, 2018 — The annual fund raising collection is set for Saturday, June 9 at Wal-Mart.

May 28, 2018 — The Monongahela Vet. Council will hold their annual Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 28 starting with the line-up at 8:30 at 4th and Main Street and the parade to start at 9:00 am, followed by the memorial services at the Monongahela Cemetery at 9:45. May 23, 2018 — The Ringgold School District plans for a combined Veteran's and Memorial appreciation day honors. Because of the teachers strike last November, the November 11th event was cancelled. The following is the tentative schedule for the combined events:
Wednesday, May 23 The veteran appreciation event will be held at the new Middle School, which is right beside the High School. Breakfast will be served before their program.
Then at 12 noon, the memorial event will be held at the Gastonville Elem School. Gastonville Elementary (Ringgold North) will be serving lunch at 11:30 am. Dress uniform is the proper wear for these events.

May 1, 2018 — 7:00 PM — The May meeting of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates is to be held on Tuesday, May 1st, 7 PM, at the American Legion Home in Dunkirk PA.

February 6, 2018 — 12 noon — A Two-Bell service will be conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018 at 12 noon.for Rocky Johnson . Shipmates are requested to be at the Mt Zion Church in Lock Four no later than 11:45 AM

January 22, 2018 — 2:45 PM — Two-bell services to be held for Mr. Winbush on Monday, January 22, 2018, at 2:45 PM , in the Frye Funeral Home, Monongahela PA. Shipmates are requested to be at the funeral home no later than 2:30 PM.

January 17, 2018 —2:45 PM — Two-Bell Services to be held for John Radic on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 2:45 PM, in the Anthony Massafra Funeral Home, 40 2nd St. Ext., Donora PA. Shipmates are requested to be at the funeral home no later than 2:30 PM
