Mid Mon Valley Shipmates Two Bell Service

Two Bell Ceremonial Service

MID-MON VALLEY SHIPMATES
TWO-BELL CEREMONIAL SERVICE

We are the members of the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates and we are here to pay our respect to our departed Shipmate, _________________, who has answered the call to the Supreme Commanding Officers. We will start our services with the playing of the Navy Hymn.

Chaplain:
“Almighty God, the Creator of all things, we humbly beseech Thee to accept our devotions. Have mercy on the souls of our departed Shipmates. Guide us in all our undertakings that we may truly please Thee. Amen.”

TOLL THE BELL AFTER EACH LINE

“The toll of the Ship’s Bell

reminds us of the reverence

we owe to our Departed Shipmates

and to those who guard the honor

of our Country,

upon the sea,

under the sea,

in the air

and upon foreign soil.

Let us who gather here

not forget our obligations

and in silence

breathe a prayer

for our absent Shipmates.

Chaplain:
“ Our Heavenly Father, we deem this a fitting time to pay our respects to our departed Shipmate(s). As we stand with bowed heads in reverence to ________, let us remember the good deeds (he) (she) (they) accomplished. Let us revere _______ as a good sailor, who fought a good fight in a just cause. Let us silently pray for peace, the peace that passes all understanding. And, let us in mind and soul consecrate our hearts and lives to the real America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, the America worth fighting for. As we stand in this silence to our departed Shipmate(s) _______, May we sincerely say.....
“May (his) (her) (their) soul(s) rest in peace.” “Amen.”
